A series of quiet, peaceful virtual gardens, bought to life in Unreal Engine 5.
This compiles all the videos from this series so far – covering environments across many different biomes and settings, from jungles to deserts and everything in-between.
This series was (and still is!) a test-bed for me over the last few years, trying out different complex scenes, experimental workflows and really stress-testing the engine for more cinematic work – and more importantly to find where the limits of the tech were. Useful for freelancing, as I don’t really want to discover bugs and other issues while in the middle of doing client projects!
This was also me experimenting with different types of colour-grading to try and capture specific moods, as well as with different camera-capture styles including virtual cameras via livelink.
Rendered out in Unreal Engine 5.2 – 5.7 on an RTX 3060/3090. Using a mix of third-party models and custom assets modelled and textured in Blender. Nanite was used for all models and foliage; Lumen for global illumination and reflections. Anti Aliasing done with DLAA and TSR.
